WhatsApp Status safe zones for text and faces
Updated 2026-08-15
The Safe Zone calculator on this site turns the top, bottom, and side margins you choose into pixel guides for a 1080×1920 frame. Each input is clamped between 0 and 45 percent. The width calculation is round(1080 × (1 − 2 × side / 100)); the height calculation is round(1920 × (1 − (top + bottom) / 100)).
A repeatable method
The default settings are an 8 percent side margin, 10 percent top margin, and 16 percent bottom margin. With those defaults, the calculator returns a 907×1421 pixel safe area. Changing a margin changes that calculated guide. It does not decide whether text, a face, or another detail is important.
Make the decision before exporting
This is a browser-local planning tool. It does not inspect, upload, or change your media. Separately, VividStatus can place a source in a vertical frame with a custom crop or a blurred-background fit. Those framing choices do not reproduce WhatsApp’s interface, and the calculator’s margins are not official WhatsApp boundaries.
Practical target
Use the result as a placement guide, not as a preview of a later app. When an edge detail matters, make a test post in WhatsApp after the file is ready. That checks the later handoff and interface separately from this local calculation.
