VividStatus is an iPhone app that prepares photos and videos for WhatsApp Status: it frames selected media on a 9:16 working canvas, can divide a long video into evenly sized parts under its current 90-second maximum, and lets you open each prepared item in WhatsApp for review — entirely on device, with no watermark, no ads and no account.
How the trimmer works
- Filmstrip handles — Drag the start and end handles along a filmstrip of your own footage. You are looking at the frames you are cutting, not typing into a duration field.
- The cut happens before the frame — VividStatus trims first and fits to 9:16 afterwards, so the framing decision is made against the footage you actually kept.
- Your original is untouched — The export writes a new file. The video in your Photos library keeps its full length.
- Still too long? It splits — If the selected window exceeds VividStatus’s current 90-second maximum, the app divides it into ordered checklist parts.

Why trim before you hand it over
Trimming and splitting answer different questions. Trim when the clip has one moment in it. Split when it has all of them.
WhatsApp’s current composer behavior can change, so inspect it before posting instead of relying on a duration rule from an article. Trimming in VividStatus gives you a deliberate source window before that handoff.
Trimming can also reduce the number of parts. A 35-second selection needs two parts under VividStatus’s current maximum; trim it to the 25 seconds you actually want and it becomes one prepared item.
Trimming is an edit, not a compression or delivery guarantee. VividStatus documents what it writes locally, while WhatsApp controls what happens after handoff.

How long can a WhatsApp Status video be?
Do not infer the current WhatsApp limit from VividStatus’s settings. VividStatus ships with a 90-second maximum and does not detect the rule on your account or device. Check the current WhatsApp composer before posting.
What happens if I post something longer than the cap?
Behavior can vary by WhatsApp version and posting flow. Review the composer’s selected range before you confirm, and use a disposable live post when the ending matters. VividStatus does not claim to predict that behavior.
Does trimming change the video in my Photos library?
No. VividStatus works from a copy and writes a new file for Status. Your original keeps its full length.
Can I trim and fit to 9:16 in the same export?
Yes — trimming, framing and the handoff to WhatsApp are one job, not three passes through three apps.
Is there a watermark on a trimmed clip?
No. Exports carry no watermark on any plan.
