A WhatStatHD alternative with no watermark

Updated 2026-08-05

WhatStatHD’s own App Store description says its free tier exports with a light watermark and that removing it is part of what the upgrade buys. VividStatus never watermarks an export, on any tier or any plan — but WhatStatHD does several things VividStatus deliberately doesn’t, and they are listed below rather than left out.

VividStatus is an iPhone app that prepares photos and videos for WhatsApp Status: it fits them to the exact 9:16 frame, splits longer clips into ordered parts sized to what your WhatsApp actually accepts, and hands them to WhatsApp in one tap — entirely on device, with no watermark, no ads and no account.

Two different products, honestly

WhatStatHD is a maximalist app: compression, a music library, stickers, collages, AI captions, a status saver and a history list, shipped fast — its July 2026 release alone added captions, history, the saver and fifteen languages. If you want a Status studio, that is a real answer and this page is not going to pretend otherwise.

VividStatus is the opposite shape. It does one job — prepare the file and hand it to WhatsApp — and everything the file passes through is framing, encoding, splitting and delivery. Nothing is added to your media and nothing is charged for removing something added to it.

The one claim neither app should make is what the Status looks like to viewers, because WhatsApp decides the final encode after upload. VividStatus publishes what it encodes to, per delivery route, and stops there.

Switching questions

Is the VividStatus free tier watermarked?

No. No export from VividStatus carries a watermark, on any tier. Photos are free and your first video export is free; beyond that there is a paid unlock, priced by your local App Store.

Can I add music or captions in VividStatus?

No. It frames, encodes, splits and hands over. If your Status needs a soundtrack or overlays, edit first in the app you already use, then bring the finished clip here.

How many ratings does each app have?

As of 28 July 2026 WhatStatHD showed 4.3 stars from 6 US ratings. VividStatus is new and has none yet — neither number tells you much, which is why the table above compares features instead.
